A lot of free children's apps are free because the child is the product. Adverts between levels, a chat window with strangers in it, a sign-up form before anything works, or a paywall that appears twenty minutes in.
None of that is here, and this page says exactly what that means.
No adverts
There are no adverts of any kind — not banners, not videos between rounds, not "watch this to continue". There is no advertising SDK in the app, so there is no ad network profiling your child either.
Nothing to buy
The app is free and there is nothing to purchase inside it. No coin packs, no energy refills, no premium levels, no subscription. Every game, every fish and every feature described on this site is included.
The coins and stars a child collects come from playing learning games and cannot be bought with real money — which is the point of them.
No chat, no other players
Mind Craft Fish is entirely single-player. There is no chat, no messaging, no comments, no friend list, no leaderboard against strangers, and no way for anyone outside your household to contact your child through the app. The only "other people" in the ocean are the fish.
No account required
Install it and start playing. There is no sign-up, no email address, no profile to create. Progress saves on the device.
A free parent account exists and is entirely optional. It adds cloud backup, the parent dashboard and remote settings. If you never create one, nothing about your child's experience changes — that is a rule we hold ourselves to, not a side effect.
Works offline
Every game runs on the device with no internet connection. Aeroplanes, car journeys, hotel Wi-Fi that never quite works, a house where the router is switched off at bedtime — all fine. Nothing waits on a server.
The only things that need a connection are the optional ones: signing in to a parent account, syncing a backup, and opening the parent dashboard in a browser.
Cloud backup only if you choose it
Without an account, progress never leaves the device. With one, the child's progress syncs so a new iPad picks up exactly where the old one stopped.
What syncs is game progress: coins, stars, fish, aquarium state, voyage days, per-game levels and settings. You can export or delete it from the dashboard's data page at any time.
What we do not collect
- No advertising identifiers and no third-party analytics or tracking.
- No location.
- No microphone or camera access.
- No contacts, photos or files.
- No cookies on the app side. The website and dashboard use only what sign-in and your language choice need.
The full policy is in the privacy policy, and it is written to be read rather than to be survived.
Age rating
The App Store rating is 9+. Younger children can use parts of it alongside an adult, and parents can adjust what is available — the ages page explains how that works and why the two numbers are different.
