Frequently asked questions

Before you start

What age is the app for?

From about 5 up. The first time you open the app it asks how old your child is and whether they usually play alone or with a grown-up, then sets up which activities appear and how hard they are. Younger children get the parts that need no reading — rhythm, memory, number hunting, counting-based math, the aquarium and the beach.

The App Store says 9+. Can my 6-year-old play?

Yes. 9+ is Apple's rating for the content — our Fish Adventure has cartoon-style platforming and a boss stage, which puts it in that band. It is guidance for children playing unsupervised, not a limit on what the app can do. Inside the app, choosing an age of 5–8 automatically hides the activities that need reading or harder thinking, and parents can adjust every game individually. We do recommend a grown-up nearby for younger children. If you cannot find MCF in the App Store, check Settings → Screen Time → Content & Privacy Restrictions and make sure the app rating is not limited to 4+.

Is an account required?

No. Every game, the aquarium and the beach work offline without an account. An optional parent account adds cloud saves and the web dashboard.

Is an internet connection required?

Not without an account. A parent account uses the internet only for sign-in, progress sync and web management.

Is it suitable for a child who finds focusing hard?

Sessions are short and learning games do not punish mistakes or timeouts. Voyage progress never resets after a break, and motion can be set to Calm or Lively.

Learning content and languages

Which languages are supported?

The interface supports English, Japanese, Simplified Chinese and Traditional Chinese. Character Craft covers Japanese kanji, Simplified Chinese and Traditional Chinese; English Words teaches English vocabulary. Explicit module choices stay fixed when the interface language changes.

What can children practise?

Math, characters and English, coding, visual search, working memory, rhythm and pitch, attention switching and short focus habits.

What happens after a course is finished?

Supported games continue with coded Endless Challenges. The same code reproduces the same challenge.

Ads and cost

Does the app show ads?

No. There are no social feeds, chat or third-party behaviour-tracking ads.

Are there in-app purchases?

Not currently. If optional additions are offered later, pricing and content will be shown in advance and the core learning experience will not suddenly move behind a paywall.

Data and devices

Can progress move to a new device?

Yes, when the app is signed into a parent account. Sign into the same account on the new device to restore from the cloud. Progress without an account remains only on the original device.

When are cloud saves made?

The app checks for newer data at launch and when returning to the foreground, mirrors dirty progress periodically during play, and saves when backgrounded. Network failures never erase local progress; sync continues later.

Can I delete the account?

Yes. Email accounts can be deleted from the dashboard; Sign in with Apple accounts are deleted from the iPhone/iPad app after identity confirmation. Cloud data is permanently removed.

Parent dashboard

What can I manage?

View learning reports and manage game access, supported difficulty ranges, daily missions, screen time, rewards, cloud-save history and the account. Family settings apply when the child's app next syncs.

Where do I open it?

Open it from Parent Settings in the app or from the parent dashboard on this site. It signs out automatically after 20 minutes of inactivity.

Troubleshooting and more

Can sound and motion be made quieter?

Yes. Use global mute and choose Calm motion. The app also respects reduced-motion preferences.

Where can I send a bug report or request?

Use Support & Contact. Device, OS, app version and the screen where it happened help us investigate.
