Use it well
Image MLX Lab creates and changes pictures, and the changes can look real. That is useful for your own photos and projects, and harmful when it deceives, sexualises or humiliates people. These rules apply to everyone who uses it, whatever they use it for.
Photos of real people
- Edit a photo of a real person only in ways they would agree to. The more the edit changes how they look, what they wear or what they appear to be doing, the more their consent matters.
- Never undress, sexualise or put a real person into an intimate or sexual scene — not even privately, not as a joke, and not with a face that is “only similar”.
- Do not use it to make someone look ridiculous, guilty or present somewhere they were not.
- Anything involving a minor is off limits beyond ordinary, harmless touch-ups of a family photo.
Do not deceive
- Do not pass off a generated or edited image as an unaltered photo where that matters — news, evidence, documents, identity checks, insurance claims, reviews, dating profiles.
- When you publish an image you made or substantially changed with AI, say so. Image MLX Lab does not add a watermark or label, so the disclosure is up to you.
- Never use it to forge documents, IDs, signatures or official images.
Other people's pictures
- Editing someone else's photo, artwork or design may need the rights holder's permission, even if you only mean to share it with friends. Image MLX Lab does not check rights; you do.
- Do not use it to remove watermarks, signatures or credits from work that is not yours.
- Your own photos and images you made yourself are always fine to use.
The model's own rules
The default model, Qwen-Image-2.1, comes with the Qwen Research License: non-commercial research and evaluation only, together with its own conditions of use. Using Image MLX Lab does not change them. Read the model licence before you use the model, and get a licence from Qwen before any commercial use.
Never
- Sexual content involving minors, in any form.
- Intimate or sexual images of a real person without their consent.
- Fake images made to deceive, defame or impersonate.
- Harassment, threats or extortion.
- Anything else that is unlawful where you are or where the image will be seen.
Reporting misuse
If you find Image MLX Lab being used against these rules, write to support@houjun.dev. Image MLX Lab runs on people's own computers, so we cannot see or stop what they make, but we take reports seriously and will act where the law allows. If an image of you is being shared without your consent, also report it to the platform where it appears and, where relevant, to the police.
